Chloe & Rushton

It was a touching experience for me to be able to spend time with these two. Over the past few months (I'm not exactly sure what sparked it) I have become so interested in human connection, love, relationships (romantic & non romantic), psychology, human instinct and all of the things in-between, but while I've been listening to audiobooks almost on a night-ly basis, I haven't been around romantic love in a while. I mean, new romantic love. I of course always have small experiences of unromantic love day to day (in fact I try to fill my life with them); If I had to think of moments as examples; The way my dad will run out to me as I'm leaving to give me a hug and how he always tells me to drive safe & that he loves me before I go, mum cooking me something special every time I tell her I'm coming to visit and her hashtagging #ilovemydaughter on every instagram photo she posts of food for me (🤦♂️😘). Just, my parents in general are the embodiment of love. Mum's love screams, dad's whispers but I can still hear them both with the same volume. I can recall a conversation between them both last time I was visiting, mum laughs as she says to dad while she looks for her glasses "I'm going blind so I can't see you age, and you're going deaf so you can't hear me complain about getting old. Isn't growing old together beautiful." It was endearing. If I've ever learned to love unconditionally it has been from them two. This year, other than periods of infatuation I guess you could call it, there's been no romantic love for me, personally. I am definitely okay with it, but I didn't realise until I saw it that I kind of missed it. For that reason, it was so nice to spend time with these two and be in the presence of that kind of love rather than just experience it from an educational perspective, and with these two its so real. You could see how they'd build on each others sentences, and the way they spoke about when they first met. You could see from the way they spoke about each other that they knew each other inside out & spoke about their future together with such certainty. It was actually so beautiful.
This turned into a selfish blog post, I know this day was about the experience for Rushton & Chloe, but these guys gave me as much of an experience as strange as that sounds. So I guess I wanted to share. I'm not sure why I think anyone really cares haha.
It was an absolute pleasure getting to know these two and documenting these moments for them.
I didn't really plan to make a video on the day, nor am I under any illusion that I'm actually good at it (haha) but there's something about video that makes the moments & memories come to life and I couldn't resist taking a little bit of footage to surprise these guys with.
